DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY

It is the policy of JSML/JOCL to maintain a safe and healthy working environment free from the unauthorized use of drugs and alcohol. In accordance with this policy, no personnel shall use or be under the influence of any drug or alcohol during work hours. JSML/JOCL is committed to conducting unannounced checks or drug tests on all or any of its staff members to ensure compliance with this policy at all times.

OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY POLICY

The company’s safety policy is based on the principle of operating in a manner that ensures the safety of personnel, the environment, and compliance with international, national, and industry safety standards.

The company’s BBS (Behavior Based System) aims to enhance maritime safety, particularly during boarding and disembarking, by positively influencing the behavior of operators, seafarers, drivers, and subcontractors through observation, coaching, and communication.

STOP WORK POLICY

Stop work responsibility: Every employee has the responsibility and authority to stop work immediately, without fear of reprisal, when they believe:

  • Conditions pose a danger to the health and safety of workers or the public.
  • Conditions could adversely affect the safe operation of a facility or cause serious damage.
  • Conditions could result in the release of hazardous substances that exceed regulatory requirements or approvals.

COMPLAINT AND GRIEVANCE POLICY

Every employee has the right to raise a complaint without fear of reprisal. Complaints can be submitted to the immediate superior, and in the event of a complaint against the superior, employees are encouraged to approach top management. While employees are encouraged to identify themselves, complaints can also be registered anonymously.

ETHICS POLICY

The company and its employees, including consultants, should always comply with the OCIMF and CDI ethics policies. All SIRE accredited inspectors must ensure that the OCIMF ethics policy is signed and adhered to annually, and a printed record should be maintained. Consultants should conduct inspections to the highest ethical and professional standards, regardless of the commissioning member.

ANTI-BRIBERY AND ANTI-CORRUPTION POLICY

The company has zero tolerance towards corruption and bribery (accepting or offering). Any employee or contractual inspector involved in such activities will have their services terminated immediately. The Company Code of Good Practice upholds three core principles: integrity, professionalism, and transparency.

DATA PROTECTION POLICY

The company is committed to protecting the privacy and security of personal information (of employees, consultants, and clients). We comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK data protection laws.

TRAVEL SECURITY POLICY

The company will not carry out jobs in locations where the safety and security of inspectors or consultants are at risk. Travel and health advisories, as per local and international laws, must always be adhered to. If there is any doubt, travel should be abandoned, and the company (Director), CDI, OCIMF, and relevant clients should be immediately notified.

CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

Sustainability refers to maintaining environmental, social, and economic systems and processes over time. JSML/JOCL adopts a holistic approach to considering the social impacts of business alongside the environment and economy. We aim to reduce waste and carbon footprints across our supply chain, from suppliers to operations and partners to end consumers.

MEDIA POLICY

Only the Director is authorized to speak to the media. All communication regarding company operations and management must not be disclosed to third parties, and no statements should be made to the media (social, print, news channels, etc.) unless authorized by the Director.

NO BLAME CULTURE

JSML / JOCL follows a no blame culture, accepts that mistakes do happen within the workplace and workers are proactively encouraged to report errors for them to be rectified swifty, without the threat of individuals and their actions being targeted for blame. The focus instead is on creating a highly aware workforce, attuned to identifying issues and mistakes, and enabling the organisation to address these and avoid them happening again.

POLICY AGAINST SEXUAL HARASSMENT

Sexual Harassment (as defined below) in any form, whether verbal, non-verbal or physical, is something that JSML / JOCL will not tolerate, and is also against the law. This Section 7 applies to any allegations of Sexual Harassment made by an employee, client or visitor against an employee of JSML / JOCL, if the conduct occurred on the premises of JSML / JOCL, or any place visited by the employee out of or during the employee's work for JSML / JOCL, including transportation provided by JSML / JOCL for undertaking such journey.

CHILD LABOUR

The Company is committed against and prohibits the practice of employing Children. The Company hires only those individuals who have completed 14/18 years of age, on confirmation of their ages by way of recognized and valid legal documents like birth certificate, School leaving certificate, Aadhar card, Pan card, driving license and/or passport.

CYBER SECURITY POLICY

The company will take all measures under the relevant laws to protect people, safeguard the integrity of high value and hazardous products against loss by intentional destruction or theft, and save proprietary information in the company’s custody. FORCED AND COMPULSORY LABOUR POLICY

The policy applies to all categories of employees of the company, including management and workmen, apprentices, and employees at our workplace premises. "Forced Labour" is defined as work or service extracted from a person under threat or penalty, which includes penal sanctions and the loss of rights and privileges, where the person has not offered him or herself voluntarily. It includes slavery and abduction, misuse of public and prison works, forced recruitment debt bondage and domestic workers under forced labour situations and internal trafficking.
